WOMEN ARE DARING TO SPEAK THEIR TRUTHS; TO QUESTION, EXPLORE, DEFINE AND DEVELOP WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A WOMAN IN TODAY’S WORLD.  SOME OF THE ANSWERS ARE ANCIENT, SOME ARE BRAND NEW AND SOME COME FROM THE WITHIN.  THOSE ARE THE HARDEST TO DECIPHER AND TO TRUST BECAUSE WE HAVE BEEN TAUGHT NOT TO TRUST OURSELVES.  WE HAVE BEEN TAUGHT TO LOOK TO OTHERS FOR THE TRUTH, FOR GUIDANCE.  YOU, MY SISTERS, ARE THE ONLY TRUTH FOR YOURSELF.  I AM SHARING MY TRUTH THERE.  IT IS NOT YOUR TRUTH. IT MAY HELP YOU TO REMEMBER YOUR TRUTH, BUT IT IS NOT YOURS.  FIND YOURS..  SHARE YOURS WITH OTHER SISTERS IN HOPES THAT IT WILL TRIGGER THEIR TRUTH FOR THEM.

HOW IT BEGAN

One night as I was out saying goodnight to the everything I found myself putting my hands on the earth, in a pose that some call the downward dog pose in yoga. I liked the way that felt; all four of my hands and feet on the earth at the same time making a total connection with Her.   It is not just about standing firmly on the Earth, it’s also about bending to connect all of our digits to Her.  It’s about balance of energies.  Our feet are our mode of travel. Our hands are our first mode of expression of thought.

It reminded me to be mindful of my hands, and my feet, and how I affect the world through them.  Since then I have made it a regular practice to connect to the Mother in that way.  While there I found that I noticed many things that I had not noticed before.  Being a short woman, I thought that I was pretty close to the earth.  It's not until I had my nose even with the grass that I learned the difference, the division, that was there.  I began to see the ants, the spiders and all of those that live there beyond our view and just under our nose (or feet, most of the time).  There is an entire universe there.  There is an entire universe within a seed, or a leaf, or an orange, etc.  In our busy days we often only have the energy to see what is most apparent to us at any given time.  There is more.  Stop, listen, look and be amazed.

This planet that our physical bodies exist on, that you call the Earth, is an infinitely, intelligent life force. She has worked with me and me with her for many years now through whisperings, knowings and experiences. She does not need us to pollute her with our “need to heal her” energy any longer. She is quite capable of transmuting energy as she has done it for many more years than our science knows. Because we are intimately tied to her energy/vibration, what she needs is for us to heal ourselves by raising our vibrations. So much of her energy has been taken by humans that if we can just focus on ourselves it will help her tremendously.

For some time now I have cringed without knowing when I see notices or hear of groups of human beings gathering in all good intentions to send focused energy to the Earth. She explains it to me like this; imagine that you were sitting enjoying yourself and all the sudden a spaceship or some other “thing” came and hovered over you and focused this beam of highly charged polluted energy onto you like an atomic bomb. What would you do? What would you feel? What would that do to your body? She asks that instead of focusing our polluted emotional energy onto her; that we focus on healing ourselves and raising our vibration as that is part of what is killing her – our diseased, corrupted vibrations. If we heal ourselves as in our physical bodies, our emotions, our spirits, then she will begin to resonate with that health. As it is She is resonating with what we are currently vibrating.

Honoring the Feminine Energy of Moontime

As Women, we were given the greatest gift of all by Creator – to be the Creators of Life.  We do that by giving birth to other humans, to ideas, to nutrition, to empowerment, and to healing.   We are blessed to be able to affect the universe through creation, transmutation and transportation.

Moontime is the time when we are between worlds. It is the time when we are most creative, closest to spirit/most intuitive, and our healing abilities are the strongest.   Three days before, during and three days after is our most powerful time for dreaming, creating, healing and "being".

In the old days women chose to go off to themselves during their bleeding times.  Sometimes, some tribes, it was the tradition to be with other bleeding women, to spend time nourishing our bodies, minds, spirits and emotions.  We did that by dreaming, praying, telling stories, sharing teachings, and creating things of beauty and healing to be given away at the end of our isolation.  Our people, our tribe, took care of us during that time so there was also the energy of care, compassion, honoring and respect that surrounded this time for us.

Then, somehow, somewhere out of the need to control and fear of losing it, society took that time and twisted it into something of a punishment instead of empowerment and nurturing.  They replaced the belief of “being honored for the ability to give life through our blood” to “a time of “she has the curse”..  I won’t elaborate any more about His-tory and how the web of personal power and balance got distorted.

Those days are gone my sisters.  The energy has shifted.  This is about healing now.  There are so many opportunities to reconnect to the Mother, to your own Mother energy and to share that in an honorable way.  Many of you have already connected with the Mother and have your own ceremonies of reconnecting.  There are Moon Lodges popping up all across Turtle Island whether physical, digital or multi-dimensional travel.  Imagine a place where women can go to during bleeding to be nurtured, rest, dream…..  But, alas some of us have the demands of family, job, society and cannot afford the luxury of isolating monthly. Where there is spirit, there is a way, as mentioned above.

For those of you who are have the urge to reconnect, but aren’t sure how; here are but a few of the many ways that you can still honor your gift of blood in a way that doesn’t interfere with your responsibilities of family and society.

  • You could fast from outside influences (tv, radio, public), or from certain foods (dairy or protein, just take in fruit, juice, organic veggies).  You could do this for the whole bleeding time or for one day.
  • you could create a moontime community; a place where women can gather during this time of power to dream, create, heal together.   This could, as previously mentioned, be in person or virtual.
  • You could give back your blood to the Mother by just sitting on the earth and allowing the blood to flow back in gratefulness for however long you choose.  That's not really that hard to pull off, even in a crowded park.... simply wear a skirt and sit...
  • Set aside an hour (or more) of bleeding days to focus on prayer, meditation, reading (mind nourishment), or crafting (putting intent of healing into the crafts).  Even with small children you could dedicate an hour after bedtime for “yourself”.

Think of the beauty and the honoring in that my sisters.  Light a candle, say a blessing, state your intent, walk with integrity in your ceremony, connect with other sisters of like-mind or empower someone who is afraid.   If you can do this for yourself, your family you will see a great healing.

Today

Women are daring to speak their truths; to question, explore, define and develop what it means to be a woman in today’s world.  Some of the answers are ancient, some are brand new and some come from the within.  Those are the hardest to decipher and to trust because we have been taught not to trust ourselves.  We have been taught to look to others for the truth, for guidance.  You, my sisters, are the only truth for yourself.  I am sharing my truth there.  It is not your truth. It may help you to remember your truth, but it is not yours.  Find yours..  Share yours with other sisters in hopes that it will trigger their truth for them.

You can find any amount of information now on the internet and in bookstores.  There are hundreds of diverse women’s organizations, societies.  There are workshops and retreats that focus only on women’s issues.  Everything you always wanted to know about being a woman on the internet of all places.  Those things that our mothers, aunties and grandmothers should have passed down to us but did not out of fear, you can find on the internet.   The old ceremonies, beliefs, rituals are being brought into the open now, unearthed, uncovered.

Women are dreaming, remembering, bringing in the multidimensional trusth and sharing those teachings with their sisters.  We are transmuting the programming of fear, shame, distrust of our sisters and subservience to men that our ancestors received and passed down through our DNA, past lives and parallel lives.  This new woman’s spirituality is more.  It is more than what we were taught, even what was hidden from us.  It incorporates diverse beliefs from multiple sources, and extends beyond all of these to form the basis of a new religion which speaks to the lives of women in this time.   It celebrates the connection to the spirit referred to as God, Creator to Earth and the essence of feminine empowerment by drawing upon all of our ancestors knowledge and the new information being presented now.  This new way is so immense that to name it is impossible.  Men fear it, Churches fear it and some women fear it because it means that they can no longer hid behind what is comfortable for them.

We are Wise Wombyn.  It is not about turning against men or discounting the gifts that men and masculine energy lend to the Universe.   This is about women; our healing and empowerment.   When we become empowered, we heal and grow.  When we heal and grow we affect our families, friends, co-workers in a healing and positive way.  When we heal and grow we affect the universe in a positive way.

Many of us are seekers on a spiritual path. We yearn for an ever deepening connection with spirit.   We look for meaning, for purpose, for stability, for answers, for an experience of the mystery, for a divine love that will wrap us in its strength.   Women are spiritual beings.    The Earth is feminine.  The Moon is feminine.  We are naturally in balance with the cycles of life and of the Earth – atleast when we are in balance.  Many of us have not been in balance in this lifetime.  That time has shifted.  The universe is in a state of renewal. In order to renew, we must release and transmute.   We are the queens of transmutation and regeneration.

What is it that your soul longs for?  Is it just a quiet, peaceful place?  Any activity that helps you reconnect with your ability to listen for and hear life’s call in the moment amounts to a spiritual practice.  Any small or large thing that helps your body feel more alive (like deep breathing, exercise, yoga, reiki, massage), anything that reduces distractions (like meditating, walking, spirit work, etc), any attempt to identify and satisfy the real needs that underlie addictive behaviors, any cognitive theory that teaches you how to listen or helps you feel okay about surrendering, any healing of the wounds that lead you to close yourself down so as not to feel.  All of these can transport and transmute you.  All of these things shift your perception.  How many times have you been in a really horrible mood and see a small animal, a butterfly or hear a baby laugh.   Did you notice that you instantly shifted?  It is possible.  Do that for yourselves sisters.

It is the belief of my Native American ancestors that every breathe, every thought, every movement is a prayer – and in that way, every prayer deepens your connection to God.    As you go through your day, notice how beautiful things are, or how damaged they are, and send a prayer for healing for them.  If you can do this - this is spiritual growth and healing.  As you bathe your children, cook for them, or play with them – see the Creator in them, honor their beauty, their innocence and be grateful for them.  If you can do this - this is spiritual growth and healing.  As you wash their clothes and pick up after them, realize that you are their protector, their provider, their life-line and treat them with gentleness, love and compassion.  If you can do this - this is spiritual growth.   As you make love to your husband or companion, love them and honor them as you would God.  If you can do this – this is spiritual growth.   If you do things with love, compassion, healing – you are experiencing spiritual healing and growth.  You become balanced in that way and your life will flow smooth and you will feel alive and healthy.
